Peeling Windows
This is mostly just a short note for anyone who has wasted oh-so-precious time trying to remember how to set your stupid windows to "peel" after doing a fresh install of..oh, sorry about that rant, there. Anyway, the peeling windows effect is a fun, visually impressive and somewhat useful (to me anyway) effect that enables you to grab the window border (especially closer to the left or right edge) and drag the window down without it snapping away from the edge entirely. When set up, it looks like you are peeling the window back to see what's behind it.
First, go into the Compiz-Fusion Settings Manager. Under the heading Effects, tick the Wobbly Windows box (at the bottom of that list). Then click on it. Play around with the 'Friction' and 'Spring K' settings to get your windows wobbling to your heart's content. Then, (very important), make sure the box is ticked for the option 'Snap Inverted', which is the second option down from the top.
Second, click on 'back' to go back to the main window. Under the category "Window Management," click on 'Move Window.' Second option from the bottom is called 'Snapoff Maximized Windows'. Untick this box. All done! Now put your cursor up in the window border, click and drag down for the peeling effect. Enjoy!
