Easy Peasy Linux 1.5
Website
Facts: Please note: Easy Peasy Linx 1.5 is designed specifically for netbooks!!!I got a call from my brother telling me that he had bought a netbook at the pawn shop and would I look for a Linux distro for him, so I did.- EasyPeasy is a Debian based (Ubuntu platform) distro, so users of Debian, derivatives etc. will be on familiar ground here.
- EasyPeasy has a unique desktop look, with a 3 paneled cell.
What I liked:
EasyPeasy Linux is very different in appearance. The 3 paneled cell has the application list on the left, locations on the right and results in the middle. It has a very nice theme, green with rounded corners and a glass appearance. Everything is easily accessible with 1 or 2 clicks. There is also a Gnome panel at the top that you can add launchers to, or create your own.
What I didn't like:
There wasn't anything that I didn't like about EasyPeasy. It was polished, pretty and everything was right there, a click or two away. I had mixed results with the appearance but I believe it is because I was testing a netbook distro on a widescreen laptop, which it clearly wasn't designed for.
Summary:
I pretty much summed it up already, so I'll get straight to the grading. I gave it an A- for appearance and an A for newbie friendliness. This distro is called EasyPeasy for a reason.
